About the Author:

Dr. He Young Kim was born in Dong Tan city near Seoul in 1938. He received his education from Pusan National University, of Commerce and Southeast Missouri State University, Louisiana State University and International University Technology. He taught martial arts and history at Southeast Missouri State University, Louisiana State University and Andrew Jackson College. He published numerous articles in various martial magazines, including Black Belt, Karate Illustrated, Official Karate, Traditional Taekwondo, Taekwondo Times, Taekwondo and KMA, Budo International authored 8 on art He Kuk and Katana. books Sool-Korean Martial Arts, Philosophy of Masters, Hapkido Bible, Hapkido II, Taekwondo Self-Defense, Hanmudo, and History of Korean and Hapkido. His future plans include the writing of the History of Taekwondo, History of Korean Martial Arts, and Pictorial History of Korean Martial Arts. He served as the President of the American Hapkido Association (1968-1978), and the Secretary General of the World Kuk Sool Association (1978-1987). He is also serving as the President of World Hanmudo Association, President of Korean Kido Association of American and also the Senior Advisor and Director of International Division of Korean Kido Association.
