Koshiro Tanaka
- Born in 1940 in Tagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. From a young age, he dedicated himself to martial arts. Starting with karate at the age of 12, he pursued various martial arts disciplines. Between 1985 and 1990, he fought alongside Afghan guerrillas against the former Soviet Army, earning praise from journalists worldwide as the "Samurai of Afghanistan." In 1991, he succeeded as the 2nd generation head of Fuji-ryu Taijutsu. Retiring as the head of Fuji-ryu in 2007, he adopted the name Niko-ryu in 2009 to preserve his martial arts and philosophy. He is a master of Niko-ryu Taijutsu.
