About the Author:

Former WBC & WBA World Strawweight Champion. Born in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture in 1965. Won the All-Japan amateur title while at Yokohama High School. Made his professional debut at Yonekura Gym in 1985. Won the WBC World Strawweight Championship in February 1990 and the WBA World Strawweight Championship in February 1992. Currently, as the president of Ohashi Boxing Gym, he trains boxers and trains former WBC World Super Flyweight Champion, Kawashima Katsushige. He is currently the president of the East Japan Boxing Association. His amateur record is 44 wins and 3 losses (27 RSC), and his pro record is 19 wins and 5 losses (12 KOs).
