Bujinkan DVD Series 14: The Origins of Budo with Masaaki Hatsumi
Recorded the Daikomei Festival held at Tokyo Budokan on November 30th and December 1-2nd, 2004.
Masaaki Hatsumi wore armor throughout the three days of the Daikomei Festival 2004. When moving with armor, if the source of the technique is not yours, the armor will get in the way and you will not be able to move at all. When it collapses, it is difficult to even get up --- in Japan, there was no shield, because armor was also a shield --- many techniques that cannot be expressed in books have been handed down through oral tradition.
The wisdom of the warriors of 2,600 years overlaps. We must learn that humans are weak. Weakness and old age make people live. In this DVD, modern Bujin, Masaaki Hatsumi teaches the essence of Bujinkan by oral tradition. The martial arts of Bujinkan, which is always backed by a sense of actual warfare, will be revealed through the DVD.
