Great Sparring Guide

As stated in the title of this review: Born to be Strongest: Shinkyokushinkai Karate 4 DVD Set IS A SPARRING GUIDE. This DVD set teaches you how to use punches and kicks in a fight yet does little to teach you the actual punches and kicks that are used in a fight. For that I would recommend purchasing the Born to be Strongest: Shinkyokushinkai Karate Volume 5 DVD. It's also a little on the pricey side. Other than that it's a great product that gives great information.

the content is SUPERB

Although it's quite expensive, the content is SUPERB. First of all, the quality and sound is top notch. I like how the camera goes through different angles and sometimes slows it down so it is easier to watch. If you're into Kyokushin or any stand up fighting, you will learn a lot of tactics and different techniques that could really help you in your fights. However, I felt that this DVD wasn't that beginner friendly. They do teach some of the basics but most of the content is geared towards the competitive side of Kyokushin Karate which means they expect you to already know some of the basic principles (like the proper stance or how to throw a proper punch). Nevertheless, if you're serious about fighting and have a chubby wallet, go pick this up...You WONT regret it!
