Yoseikan Budo Competition DVD by Hiroo Mochizuki
By Hiroo Mochizuki, Mitchi Mochizuki, Mario Ambrosini & Jean-Max Brignone
Yoseikan Budo is a unique martial art founded by Master Hiroo Mochizuki that is built around the principle of wave motion, or the "whipping principle," which efficiently transfers energy through the body to maximize the power of strikes, kicks, throws, and weapons techniques. Competition Yoseikan is the sport-oriented expression of this system, while its traditional martial applications are explored in the companion program, Traditional Yoseikan Budo.
More than a martial art, Yoseikan is a complete athletic training method designed to enhance the performance of practitioners from any sporting discipline. Master Mochizuki drew upon an exceptional competitive background—7th Dan Karate, captain of his university Judo team in Japan, track and field, swimming, volleyball, horseback riding, and scuba diving—to develop an innovative system that improves coordination, speed, strength, adaptability, and overall athletic potential.
Training with punches and kicks develops strength through extended movement, while throwing techniques build explosive contracting power. Practice with three different weapon lengths sharpens timing, speed, coordination, and the ability to adapt to constantly changing situations. Together, these complementary training methods stimulate creativity and produce a well-rounded martial artist and athlete.
Under the supervision of the internationally respected Master Hiroo Mochizuki, this instructional program introduces the principles and techniques of Competition Yoseikan through the expertise of three of the organization's leading instructors, all certified by the state and recognized for their technical excellence.
