Te Guruma DVD by Vladislav Koulikov
Te Guruma is a powerful traditional Judo technique that involves lifting and rotating your opponent before dropping them to the mat. While this technique is not currently allowed under IFJ Judo competition rules, that does not mean it’s not effective! In this instructional video, highly esteemed grappler, competitor and instructor, Vladislav Koulikov shares all the nuances to make this throw work.
Beyond just explaining how the throw works in “kata” form, Vlad goes on to show how to use the throw to counter submissions such as the standing guillotine. He also shows how to prevent common ways your opponent will try to shut down your technique, for example by lacing your leg. Finally, Vlad also covers how to transition seamlessly from the throw to various submissions.
