As part of the 60th anniversary commemorative project for Emperor Showa's reign, a project was launched to excavate and permanently preserve rare ancient films featuring martial arts experts from the early Showa period. The "Showa Tenran Shiai" was produced, showcasing the authentic spirit and form of true swordsmen who lived by the sword.
Released in three volumes on DVD, this series includes a special slideshow of photographs from the "Showa Tenran Shiai Memorial Album."
