The author is the head of Kongo Zen Sohonzan Shorinji Akashi Doin (Shorinji Kempo Daihanshi 9th Dan). He started Shorinji Kempo 68 years ago. Wanting to spread this Japanese martial art, he established a doin in Akashi from scratch and has trained over 3,000 disciples. He writes about his experiences, hoping to make use of the teachings of Shorinji in society and to give readers a glimpse into how the teachings of Shorinji can help them live their lives.
