Hirohara Makoto:
- Born in Hiroshima in 1961.
- Joined the Ashihara Dojo in 1977, then taught at the Ashihara Kaikan Tokyo headquarters.
- Moved to the United States in 1987 and won the heavyweight division at the National Karate Challenge.
- Opened the Ashihara Kaikan Los Angeles branch and won the US Sabaki Challenge twice.
- Developed Shin Taiiku-do after recognizing limitations in competitive karate.
- Returned to Japan in 1995 and founded Shin Taiiku-do.
- Devoted to teaching Shin Taiiku-do ever since.
