A Monumental Journey in the History of Martial Arts

In September 1999, at the 5th All Kanto Tournament, an unknown rookie made an astonishing breakthrough. With an exceptional physique and stamina, he overwhelmed his opponents with a rush of power, leaving a lasting impression. Subsequently, Tsukagoshi became a regular at the All Japan Championships, but faced bitter defeats against top players like Yuichiro Aisaka, Kunihiro Suzuki, and Noriomi Tsukamoto, gradually losing his shine.

However, with each loss, Tsukagoshi devoted himself to analyzing his defeats, studying his opponents' techniques, and building up his own skills. He achieved his long-awaited victory at the 3rd World Cup, but keenly felt his inadequacy against foreign opponents who dominated with physical strength, prompting him to strive for further improvement.

Then came the 9th World Karate Championship. With Aisaka and Tsukamoto falling one after another, Tsukagoshi, the last stronghold for Japan, overwhelmed favorites like Valery and Donatas to secure a dignified victory. Tsukagoshi's triumph was undoubtedly the fruit of his relentless efforts.

This documentary reflects on Tsukagoshi's journey from the memorable 5th All Kanto Tournament to the 9th World Championship, accompanied by interviews with Tsukagoshi himself. It also showcases the deadly techniques that led him to conquer the world.
