Herve Gheldman had been practicing karate with Patrick Tamburini, full-contact with Dominique Valera and Yoseikan budo with Maurice Penseyres and Hiroo Mochizuki, when he discovered Sambo in 1985.
Thanks to his friend Philippe Decoeur, he could enter the realm of Russian Sambo by getting in the Sports Academy of Moscow, where he got within 4 years a Certificate of Sambo Master and became an expert in this relatively unknown discipline.
Herve Gueldman has also become a police and military expert. Besides, he often meets with the Special Forces with Igor Yakimov in their training center.
Thanks to a committed work and the help of his friend Oleg Taktarov, he could get et win very prestigious titles (World Champion).
Sambo is an extensive and intelligent discipline, based on efficiency with a main thread that makes this martial art a fighting strategy that compares to Chess, in which there’s no place for chance.
That’s why fighters such as Oleg Taktarov and Fedor Emilianenko had been able to win in UFC and Pride.
Here is its first film with technical bases for sport and for self defense; armlocks, throws, strikes but also ground fighting with the specificity of this Russian art: leg locks.
Today, as a pupil of David Rudman, Herve goes on training with commitment so that he spreads this magnificent discipline through training sessions across Europe. This film is dedicated to his family, his teachers and friends that have been following him for so many years.
His wish, through this film, whatever your discipline is, is that you find pleasure in sharing his martial expertise.
