  • "Takemusu" and "Busan Aiki": Embrace the concepts of "Takemusu," signifying the generation and development of techniques, and "Busan Aiki," an advanced principle advocated by Aikido founder Ueshiba Morihei during his Iwama period.

This video, originally filmed in 1974 as related material for "Aikido - The Principles of Sword, Staff, and Body Technique" by Minato Research, showcases Saito Morihiro's comprehensive understanding of Aikido's weapon techniques and diverse techniques inherited from Ueshiba. Saito Sensei, who spent over 23 years in Iwama learning directly from the founder, unified these teachings into what is now known as the "Iwama Style" of Aikido.

Instruction and Supervision:
Saito Morihiro, born in Ibaraki Prefecture in 1928, began his martial arts journey under the guidance of Aikido founder Morihei Ueshiba at age 18. Over the years, he became a master instructor and head of the Aikikai Ibaraki dojo, dedicating his life to propagating Aikido worldwide. Saito Sensei's contributions include teaching essential katas such as "Aiki no Jo" and "Aiki no Ken," which encapsulate the core principles of Ueshiba's martial arts philosophy.
