About Koichi Tohei:

Born in 1920. Graduated from Keio University. Aikido's highest rank was 10th dan. In 1953, he traveled to the United States and spread Aikido to 20 states, including Hawaii. In 1971, he established the Ki Society, and since then has worked to spread the principles of Ki and the unification of mind and body. With the headquarters in Tochigi as the base, he has traveled around the country to give lectures and seminars on Ki for both companies and individuals. During this time, he has written many books and written many books. In 1980, he established the Kiatsu Therapy Academy, with the hope of improving people's health. He is currently the head of the association, which has 30,000 members in Japan and 170,000 overseas. He is also known for having taught Ki to famous athletes in various sports, including Tatsuro Hirooka, Sadaharu Oh, Shigeo Nagashima, and Chiyonofuji.
