Master of Ground Techniques, Koji Komuro, Thoroughly Introduces Judo Ne-Waza Mastery

In judo, techniques are divided into throwing (tachi-waza) and ground (ne-waza) techniques. These two are essential components, like the wheels of a car, and mastering ground techniques is crucial for advancing in judo.

This work meticulously introduces every element necessary for mastering ground techniques. Understanding how each movement is applied in actual matches and mastering the correct execution are essential even for basic exercises.

In the third volume, strangles (shime-waza) and joint locks (kansetsu-waza) are introduced. This includes techniques like Okuri-Eri-Jime (sliding lapel strangle), Jigoku-Jime (hell strangle), various forms of Juji-Gatame (cross arm lock), Sankaku-Jime (triangle choke), and others that Komuro himself has proven effective in real combat. The volume provides clear and detailed explanations from setup to finishing moves.
