About Sogawa Kazuo: Born in Hirado City, Nagasaki Prefecture in 1948, Sogawa Kazuo embarked on his martial arts journey under the tutelage of Yamashita Yoshie during elementary school. He assumed leadership of the Daito-ryu Saigo-ha in 1971 and commenced teaching at the Shodokan in Kitakyushu. In September 1990, he founded the International Daito-ryu Aikibujutsu Federation, expanding his teachings across the Kanto region and beyond. Sogawa Sensei's lifelong dedication to preserving and transmitting the essence of Daito-ryu continues to influence and inspire practitioners globally.
