Appearance:

Yuki Nakai Born on August 18, 1970, in Ishikari, Hokkaido. He studied wrestling in high school and practiced Nana Emperor Judo, which originated from technical colleges, at Hokkaido University Judo Club. In his fourth year, he contributed to the team's victory in the National Seven Universities Championship but soon left university and moved to Tokyo, where he joined the Super Tiger Yokohama Gym. On April 26, 1993, he made his professional debut against Hiroki Noritsugu. On November 7, 1994, he became the 3rd Welterweight Champion of Professional Shooto by defeating Kazuhiro Kusayanagi. He participated in "Vale Tudo Japan 95" on April 20, 1995, where despite being the lightest fighter, he defeated Gerald Gordeau in the first round and Craig Pittman in the second round to advance to the final. He fought against Rickson Gracie but lost by a choke sleeper. He lost his right eye due to the impact from Gordeau's thumbing and retired from Shooto, shifting his focus to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Since then, he has been active in various fields as a pioneer of Japanese Jiu-Jitsu practitioners. He won the brown belt featherweight division at the Pan American BJJ Championship in 1998 and was promoted to black belt in July 1999. In October of the same year, he achieved the remarkable feat of finishing third in the black belt featherweight division at the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship. In December 1997, he founded Paraiestra Tokyo to pursue his ideals, expanding its branches nationwide and nurturing numerous athletes and instructors. He holds a third-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is an official instructor of the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation and the President of the Japan Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation.
