Honoring Hidetaka Aso, Founder of Submission Arts Wrestling
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Shihan Hidetaka Aso on October 29, 2025, his 75th birthday. Born in 1950 in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, Aso was a 9th Dan master, student of Karl Gotch, two-time All Japan Wrestling Champion, 1981 Sambo World Champion, and 5th-degree Judo black belt. He created Submission Arts Wrestling (SAW), blending catch wrestling, judo, and sambo into a practical submission system.
His innovative techniques live on through his books and DVDs. Preserve his legacy and train with the master's own teachings.
