Kanshu Sunadomari was a direct student of the founder of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba and split off at the time of the founder's passing to form his own group called Manseikan.
This 3 part series serves as "textbooks" for his students as they clearly show all of his techniques. The books are titled "Aikido no Kokoro: Kokyu Ryoku" Volume 1 which can be translated as "The Heart of Aikido: Breath Power".
The text is in Japanese however there are many pictures on every page to make it easy to follow without relying on the text. Instruction covers both empty hand, bokken, and jo. Includes tachiwaza, hanmi handachi, and suwariwaza.
These are a must have for the serious student of Aikido as the founder taught.
Volume 1 includes warm up exercises, suwariwaza, tachiwaza, jo & bokken techniques.

Kanshu Sunadomari (1923–2010) was a distinguished Japanese aikido master and founder of Aiki Manseido, a unique style emphasizing the integration of aikido's physical techniques with spiritual development. Born in Kumamoto, Japan, he was one of the earliest and most devoted students of aikido founder Morihei Ueshiba, whose teachings profoundly influenced Sunadomari's approach to martial arts. After World War II, he established a dojo in Kumamoto in 1954 and, in 1961, founded Aiki Manseido, focusing on principles like blending, circular motion, and inner harmony. A prolific writer and lecturer, Sunadomari explored the spiritual dimensions of aikido, emphasizing its potential for personal growth and universal peace. His legacy endures through his writings and the continued practice of Aiki Manseido, a style known for its flowing movements and emphasis on harmony.
