Shintaiikudo: Ultimate Self-Defense by Makoto Hirohara

Makoto Hirohara, who achieved back-to-back victories in the All-American Karate Challenge, teaches the ultimate self-defense art known as "Shintaiikudo." This martial theory discards all flashy, impractical, and wasteful movements that leave openings.

Shintaiikudo isn't a sport combat art. It focuses on responding appropriately and effectively to an opponent's movements to protect oneself in case of emergency. Rather than aiming to defeat the opponent, its goal is to avoid losing. Founder Makoto Hirohara explains the theory of handling techniques in Shintaiikudo.

The DVD includes special video features: a dedication demonstration from 2002 to 2006 (approximately 7 minutes) and scenes from training sessions held at the Hiroshima Direct Control Dojo in January 2007 (approximately 25 minutes).
