Kajukenbo is a martial art from Hawaii. Master Emperado created it between 1947 and 1950, helped by four other military experts in martial arts to create a realistic style.
In this self-defense film you will find an application of the Kajukenbo in urban situation, filmed in the streets, in every day clothing. This type of work helps bring forward the possibilities of the style and get a better understanding of the use of certain moves that were created for their effectiveness and their use outside the dojo without Kimono.
The work done had one main conducting line: spontaneity. So that we could keep as natural as possible, we didn’t rehearse the moves before hand, certain ones were redone to show slight variations, so that the reactions were more instinctive than technical. In three words: Adaptation Reactivity Explosion.
Luis and Joe Diaz officials delegates of Kajukenbo for France, students of Master Angel Garcia 10th Dan successor of Master Emperado. Officials presenters of the K.S.D.I.F
Languages: English, German, French, Spanish
Running Time: 70 Minutes
