About the Author:

Makoto Takimoto (born December 8, 1974) is a retired Japanese judoka and MMA fighter.

Olympic gold medalist in judo (men's -81kg, Sydney 2000). Won Asian Championships (2000) and German Open (1997, 2000). From Nihon University.

Later transitioned to MMA (Pride, Sengoku), record 6-5-0. Notable win: split decision over Murilo Bustamante (2007). Retired after 2010.
