Aikido Yoshinkan Style by Jacques Muguruza (On Demand)
Gozo Shioda Sensei opened, with the agreement of Morihei Ueshiba Sensei, his first dojo “yoshinkan” in 1995. He was one of the first and one of the best disciples of Ueshiba. Because no Aikido can benefit from exclusivity, each school or style has to contribute to carry on the peaceful message first given by Ueshiba Sensei.
The specialty of Yoshinkan is the development of clear and precise techniques that underline and stress the principles and the spirit of Aikido.
The detailed and substantial techniques, based on established movements, contribute to an enriching and pedagogical approach leading you back to the source of the art. Aikido’s purpose, as designed by O Sensei, is to make us conscious of our original nature, of all the energy needed to accomplish our Mission and to bring Peace and Harmony on Earth. “Nice and naive” is what you could say. But the more I practice Aikido the more I feel its various effects and the more I am convinced of the exactness of Ueshiba & Gozo Shioda sensei's message.
We invite you to watch a few facets of Aikido, it’s not a comprehensive overview, but if you feel like it : may your « mission » come true.
