About the Author:

Tsutomu Chida, born October 4, 1950, in Tokyo, is a renowned aikido master and the founder of Aikido Renshinkai. He began training in Yoshinkan Aikido in 1969 and served as an uchideshi under founder Gozo Shioda for 23 years, the longest among Shioda's students. Achieving 8th dan, he became dojocho of the Yoshinkan Hombu Dojo in 2002. After splitting from Yoshinkan in 2008 following Kyoichi Inoue's resignation, Chida established Aikido Renshinkai, focusing on preserving Shioda's teachings. Known for his fluid technique, he is widely regarded as a living legend in aikido and conducts sought-after demonstrations worldwide.
